A poetry presented by personnel of Superman Is Dead, famous band in Bali and Indonesia, closed a session of press conference of Bali Clean Up 2010.

His poetry reminds us all to move to save the earth, where everyone must share responsibility and to officially open the program as well as Bali Clean Up Day, on 20th September 2010.

This spirit of responsibility sharing is the breath of the clean-up activities in Bali. Local Government, together with the private sector, NGOs, community groups and media, should gather as one step to achieve Bali as a clean and green province, which by Bali Governor Mangku Pastika proclaimed in 2013.

Bali will begin clean up through clean-up day activities of Bali, which is a simultaneous effort of all components of society and government to clean up Bali from plastic waste in a day, backed by thousands of school students and more than 30 stakeholders. Bali Clean Up Day aims to remind all community components towards the dangers of plastic waste over the environment, health, and especially economic threat. Simultaneous effort by all the environmentalists on one day on 20 September 2010 is expected to be a milestone to reach the aim Bali as the Clean and Green Province.

Rubbish, proved to be a considerable problem in Bali. According to David Cooper, the initiator of the process of sewage treatment in Temesi village, Gianyar, of thousands of tons of garbage that was issued by all communities across the island of gods, only 25 to 30 percent were transported by Cleanliness and gardening service and / or private waste transportation companies. The remaining 70 to 75 percent disposed at the roadside, rivers, even at the beach.

Jensi Sartin, director of Reef Check Foundation Indonesia said it is time we unite to do something for our earth. Act wise is the most simple and easiest way to start something significant to “save” our planet (or perhaps save the lives of human beings on this earth). “
